The Rincon area of Bonaire has many small clean uncrowded beaches.
Located in the Rincon area are:
Playa Frans: old remote fishing village, quiet, no surf, next to abandoned salt pans which play host to many feeding flamingos,
Boca Onima: small sand bay on the windward side, not suitable for swimming.
Located within Washington-Slagbaai National Park are:
Playa Chicitu: beautiful sand beach and dunes, big waves and strong undertow not recommended for swimming.
Boca Kokoloshi: a beach of granulated fossil shells, sheltered wading pool, great for small children. The picture above is of Boca Kokoloshi.
Playa Funchi: located at the northwestern tip, former harbor for Plantation Washington, water so clear you can see the fish from a low cliff above the bay, great for snorkeling, lots of iguanas.
Playa Wayaka: Loveliest smal beach on Bonaire but o so beautiful. Great swimming and snorkeling. The picture below is of Playa Wayaka.
Boca Slagbaai: Here you can swim and enjoy the Caribbean sea at its best. Go snorkel and look for the canon only a few feet deep. How did that get there?… ask and find out, the outcome wil surprise you.
